Batangas Travel Guide

The best way to travel to Batangas is to know which part or town you are headed too. There are two parts of Batangas, the eastern side, and the western side.

Eastern towns of Batangas Travel Guide

Here are some of the most frequent towns in the eastern side. The three cities in Batangas, Lipa City, Tanaun City and Batangas City. San Juan and Mabini where most beach resorts are located. Other key towns are Bauan, San Pascual, Sto. Tomas and Malvar.

Traveling to the eastern towns you should go straight all the way at the end of SLEX (South Luzon Expressway) or Toll Road 3, which connects it from the STAR Tollway.

At the STAR Tollway the first town you will hit is Sto. Tomas. This will be followed by Tanaun City then Malvar, which has toll exit to lead you to the town proper.

Going straight all the way to Lipa and turning right at Lipa City toll exit, will lead you to the towns of Lipa City, Padre Garcia, Rosario, and to San Juan's beach resorts. You should also take Lipa toll exit, if you are traveling to the towns of Cuenca, Alitagtag, and other nearby towns.

Western towns of Batangas Travel Guide

The western side famous beach resort towns are Nasugbu, Calatagan, and Lian where Matabunkay is located. Other towns are Taal, Lemery, Calaca, Balayan and Tuy.

There are two options to take when traveling to the western side of Batangas. Both options will lead you to Tagaytay City. It is the best spot to catch a glimpse of Taal Volcano.

1st option – From Roxas Boulevard go straight to the Coastal Road that leads you to Aguinaldo Highway in Bacoor Cavite. Aguinaldo highway will lead you to the town of Dasmarinas, Cavite all the way to Silang going up the city of Tagaytay.

2nd option – Take SLEX and head towards the exit of Sta. Rosa, Laguna. At the exit toll plaza of Sta. Rosa take a right turn and it will take you to Silang Cavite, all the way to Tagaytay City.

The next town after Tagaytay, is Nasugbu. Taking a left after the boundary of Batangas and Cavite will take you to Diokno Highway, which is bound to the towns of Lemery, Calaca, Taal and San Luis. A travel guide tip, since Taal and Lemery are at the middle of the division, you can also take the STAR highway as an option. Travel time and distance do not vary that much.

Going straight downhill the Nasugbu Highway, and taking a right at the Palico junction will lead you to the beach resorts of Nasugbu, Matabungkay in Lian and Calatagan. Taking a left at the Palico juction will take you to Tuy, Balayan and Calaca.
