Coral Beach Club in Matabungkay is a place to consider if you want to let loose in a beach in the western side of Batangas. The resort is conveniently located in the long white sand stretch of Matabungkay beach in the town of Lian.
There are numerous resorts from upscale to budget accommodation that can be found along the strip of Matabungkay beach. But, I guess the resort would be the choice of vacationers who had experienced and visited the hotel.
The place is not that big, on the other hand it has a pool that starts at four feet, which, I feel, is not recommended for children. But the young kids can plunge into the water in the Jacuzzi that can be used as a kiddie pool.
The beachfront in the resort is not that good. The bottom is quite rocky with lots of corals. But walking a few meters to your left, you can find a good spot to swim.
Another problem at the hotel's beachfront; there are a number of balsa (raft) that could obstruct your swimming. But the balsa is the trademark of Matabungkay beach, so you have to live with it. My suggestion; rent a raft, go into the deep and swim, likewise have your lunch at the balsa and stay there till sundown.
Coral Beach Club have four room option for their guest to choose from, a Super Deluxe, Deluxe Cottage, Deluxe and a Standard Room. Rooms are well maintained with air-conditioning equipped with its own toilet and bath, clean sheets, cable TV, cabinets and an electronic room safe. Room rates are reasonable compared to other nearby resort and hotel.
Aqua sport like diving, snorkeling, kayak, Jet Ski, and banana boat are available at the resort. And an indoor game the billiard is free of charge.
The open-air restaurant serves European and Asian food. It has two big LCD TV's where guest can watch their favorite program while eating. The prices of the food however are high or expensive. And the food taste does not justify the price.
The bar is loaded with quality wines and spirit and everybody's favorite, ice-cold San Miguel beer. Taking an ice-cold beer by the shore is very relaxing, especially if you can have a good vista of the sunset. Well, drinks are also a bit pricey, but during happy hour's they are given away at a discount.
And for golfers out there, Coral beach can arrange with Calatagan Golf Club for you to play at their Robert Trent Jones Jr. designed golf course. Moreover you can have the luxury of having a driver and a van to get you to the course and bring you back to the resort for a minimal fee. The golf course by the way is just twenty minutes drive.
In addition, if you feel somewhat tired and would like to have a massage, you can try the local hilot to sooth those aching muscles. Furthermore, have a facial, manicure, pedicure and a hair makeover at MJ's Spa and Salon.
Staffs at the resort are friendly, courteous and attend to every need of their visitors. Even the manager of the resort is visible and always makes sure that their guests are comfortable and would gladly attend to your request. Best of all, the entire place is well secured.
